Holy Abandonment

It’s a new season for me!

In January I wrote a blog called “New Year, Same Season,” but now, things have changed. I’m now in a season I’m calling “Holy Abandonment.” This new season has been a divinely orchestrated “STOP” from specific activities, opportunities, collaborations, etc. that God told me to do, but is now instructing me to stop doing. And as a result, I’m now experiencing another dimension of God because I’m not so bound to what He said, that I can’t obey what He’s saying.

In April, I began to feel a shift in my ministry. I noticed that I had begun to attract a different segment of women than I would normally attract. And they wanted more knowledge, resources and in-person interactions than I would typically provide. Then, I began to feel a shift in my teaching. It was like my ears had popped so I was hearing God differently, which made me study and teach differently. And once I realized that the Lord was changing my season, I was anxiously excited about what it would bring. And in July, I announced that after six years, the Church Girls Movement was transitioning to the Well Woman Movement.

At the time of the announcement, the vision wasn’t completely clear. However, in the weeks since the announcement, God has given more clarity. While the Church Girls Movement focused on helping church girls detox from religion and false doctrines, the mission of the Well Woman Movement is to equip all women of faith with the Biblical and practical knowledge required to detox from religion and be made well from its adverse impacts. The new vision is to curate life-changing, Spirit-led encounters through transparency, accountability and community that prompt woman of faith to rebuild their faith, reignite their purpose, and reimagine their view of the church. Ultimately, it’s a safe space for underfed, vulnerable, thirsty, dissatisfied women of faith to draw nigh to the well of God and be filled.

Contrary to other women ministries that focus on one thing, such as purpose, prayer, empowerment, etc., the Well Woman Movement will be a well that women can draw from and apply as needed. Like a physical well that supplies water and the water can be used for cooking, drinking, cleaning, washing, etc., the Well Woman Movement will supply Jesus, and women can apply Him in whatever areas needed.

The woman at the well went to draw water but had no idea that she would discover Jesus. And as a result of her encounter at the well, the woman left with the testimony that Jesus filled her voids, that He pursued a relationship with her despite her sin, and that He offered Himself as her Savior and Shepherd.

What do you need from Jesus? He’s willing and able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you ask or think. If you’re ready, meet Him at The Well…
