The Year of Acceleration

This year changed me in more ways than I can articulate.

Before the new year, I decided that I was going to obey quickly. Before making this decision, whenever God gave me instructions, I tried to wait until He gave me the details before I took the first step. It wasn't until I learned that I was operating out of fear, and using my desire to obey God as an excuse to stall or to not move at all. So, this year, while it wasn’t always easy, I responded quicker when God gave me instructions. And as a result, I experienced a whirlwind of accelerated experiences and opportunities.

I made daily devotion a part of my daily routine. I traveled to new places. I tried new things. I experienced new adventures. I spoke on new platforms and stages. I completed new opportunities. I acquired new credentials and certifications. I accomplished both new, and old, goals. I got a promotion. I started therapy. I scheduled monthly date nights. I planned “Mommy and Son” time with my sonshines. And I created more memories. And though every day wasn’t perfect, I’m grateful. Yes, there were moments of tears, exhaustion, anger, anxiety, imposter syndrome, sadness, pain, betrayal, sickness, and grief, but God is faithful. I survived it!

I intentionally documented this year more than I have other years because I wanted physical, visible proof of what God allows when I trust Him. Now, those photos, videos and social media reels serve as tangible evidence of God exceeding my expectations. They serve as real-time reminders that God always performs more than I imagine.

The year 2022 proved to me that obedience opens doors. This year was the manifestation of Amos 9:13-15: “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” GOD, your God, says so.

I can’t wait to discover what God has for me in 2023. Here’s to a new year of miracles, sings and wonders!
